We’re proud to be supporting charity Fashion Awareness Direct (FAD) – giving training opportunities to over a hundred 16-18 year olds through sponsorship of their Fashion Futures programme.

Our George team works directly with young people on the project – delivering workshops on trends research and mood board design and setting a challenge to re-style our Spring/Summer collection for the George Style Blog.

FAD’s Executive Director, Maria Alvarez, said on the partnership: “Over the past few months, George has shown considerable commitment to Fashion Futures 2 and the teenagers involved. We are really looking forward to building on this in 2012, and facilitating even more opportunities for creative young people and George to work together.”

On top of our work with FAD we’re also sponsoring Graduate Fashion Week this year – an event that showcases the work of talented young designers from the UK and outstanding student collections across the globe.

Our Brand Director Fiona Lambert says: “George is well known for its commitment to encouraging young talent in the industry. They are the lifeblood of our industry and through our sponsorship of GFW and FAD we’re able to work with some amazing people with fantastic ideas and skills, while giving them experience and opportunities in the business.”

Fashion Futures 2012 launches this Saturday 21st January with a study day at the V&A Museum in London and will run until the end of March. The 2012 FAD Junior Awards catwalk final will take place at Vauxhall Fashion Scout in September with 25 young finalists from London and Greater Manchester.
