Barbara Hulanicki t-shirts for Tickled Pink

We’re delighted to be working with British fashion icon Barbara Hulanicki who has designed four fabulous t-shirts for us for Tickled Pink.
The t-shirts are on sale at George and for every one sold we’ll be donating £1 to Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Awareness.
Barbara founded the iconic fashion label Biba in the 1960s and these t-shirts all feature elements of her signature style incorporating stunning graphics of oversized roses, feminine faces and women’s silhouettes.
George Brand Director Fiona Lambert unveiled the t-shirts at our recent Christmas press launch:
We hope you’ll love the t-shirts as much as we do. Tess Daley is already a fan – in her column in the Mirror she writes: “So exciting to hear Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki has designed T-shirts for the tickled pink breast cancer campaign. A designer piece for less and helping a charity at the same time. Great.”
Barbara’s philosophy has always been to make fashion affordable and to design clothes that young people will want to wear. Biba started out as a boutique in London in 1964 and her shop attracted many of the style icons of the swinging Sixties.
This is just the start of our relationship with Barbara – we’ll shortly be announcing a brand new Barbara Hulanicki collection for George at Asda which we’re very excited about, so check back here for more details soon.
Over the past 13 years Asda has raised £21 million for breast cancer charities through Tickled Pink and we’re hoping to raise another £3 million this year. You can read more about this year’s campaign on our charities website.
Unfortunately breast cancer affects women of all ages and at George we’ve been developing a range of post-surgery swimwear and lingerie for women who have had mastectomies. Beverly Spence is one of the very special people who’ve helped us to develop the range. The mum of two had breast cancer twice in four years and had a mastectomy in July last year. You can read Beverly’s story here.
You can see some of the other items in our Tickled Pink collection over on the George.com website.
